Find ‘Chip’ in King County’s Eastside parks and trails,

A visit to any of King County's nationally renowned parks or trails is always a worthwhile experience. Beginning Aug. 3, Eastside parks and trail users will have the extra incentive of possibly winning a year’s worth of free burritos from Chipotle.

King County Parks staff will be hiding 30, 2-foot-long replica “burritos” bearing the logos of King County Parks and Chipotle restaurants in county parks and along county trails in the eastern portion of King County. Each parks and trail user who finds “Chip” will be rewarded with one free Chipotle burrito every week for a full year.

King County Parks is teaming with Chipotle restaurant to promote parks and trails in
eastern King County, and the opening of a new restaurant in Redmond – right next door to Marymoor Park at Redmond Way and Northeast 70th Street.

“This is a fun way to remind folks that King County provides parks, trails, open spaces and other amenities close by,” said Parks Director Kevin Brown. “We’re happy to be partnering with Chipotle on this promotion, and we’re looking to a long and successful relationship with our new neighbor in Redmond.”

Parks and trails users who find “Chip” are invited to the Aug. 18 grand opening of the Redmond Chipotle store to redeem the first of 52 free burritos. Winners will also be asked to send a brief story and photo about their discovery, and what they like about King County’s parks and trails systems, to kathy.nygard@kingcounty.gov. Stories and photos will be featured on the King County Parks Web site.
