Armed Forces Sports
The Coast Guard actively participates in the Armed Forces Sports Program as a member of the Navy Sports teams, with the exception of Rugby. Coast Guard's Elite Athletes of the Year
Each year the Coast Guard recognizes top male and female athletes not only for their excellence in their chosen sport, but also for giving back to the local community making them excellent role models. Coast Guard Sports Participation Grants
The Coast Guard recognizes athletic competition as an important element of MWR. Athletic competition teaches teamwork, sacrifice, dedication, and develops an esprit de corps.
