Main Library

Main Library is the light brown brick building on Copper Avenue NW between 5th and 6th streets NW downtown.
Parking is available at the City parking garage on the southeast corner of 5th and Copper Mondays through Saturday. Bring your parking stub from this garage to the circulation desk for validation up to two hours.

Freeway Directions from I-40:
Take Interstate 40 and get off at 6th Street.
Go south on 6th into the downtown area. 
After passing Lomas Blvd, there are traffic lights at Roma, Marquette,Tijeras  and Copper  Avenues.  The Library will be on your left when you reach 6th and Copper NW

Freeway Directions from I-25:
Exit at Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and head west into downtown.
After crossing the railroad overpass, this street becomes Marquette.
Continue west on Marquette until 6th Street, make a left turn and go south two blocks on 6th to Copper NW. The Library will be on your left when you reach 6th and Copper NW

Surface Street Directions from Central Avenue Westbound:
Take Central Avenue west into downtown.
Go through the underpass under the railroad tracks, and stay to the right. The street jogs one block and becomes Copper Avenue.
Continue west to 5th Street and Copper.

Surface Street Directions from Central Ave Eastbound:
Take Central Avenue east into downtown. 
Turn left at the corner of 5th and Central (where the KiMo Theatre is located) and go north one block to 5th and Copper.

Surface Street Directions from Lomas Blvd in either direction:
Take Lomas to 6th Street.  Go south on 6th Street to Copper Ave NW.
The Library will be on your left when you reach  6th and Copper NW.

Bus Routes: Several bus routes including Central Avenue Route 66 serve Main Library. The new east bound City Rapid Ride also stops in front of Main Library.

Alamosa Branch Library

The Alamosa Branch Library is located inside the Alamosa Multi-Service Center  at 6900 Gonzales Road SW.  Look for the large sign that reads "Alamosa Multi Service Center". The Library is the light gray building.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-40 to the Coors exit. Proceed southbound on Coors past the intersection of Coors and Central and then follow surface street directions.

Surface Street Directions going West on Central Avenue to Coors Blvd:
Turn southbound on Coors. Gonzales Road SW is the first road on the left south of Central and East of Coors. Look for the left turn lane approximately 1/2 mile down  from Central.
Turn left on Gonzales Road and then right into the Center's parking lot.

Bus Route: #155/158 Cottonwood/Coors, stops in front of the Alamosa Community Center.

Cherry Hills Branch

The Cherry Hills Branch Library is located at the corner of Harper Road and Barstow Street NE, one block east of the intersection of Harper Road and Wyoming Blvd.  The Library is adjacent to the Del Norte Shopping Center whose tenants include McDonald's and Walgreens.

Freeway Directions from I-25:
Take I-25 to the San Antonio exit.  Drive eastbound on San Antonio for two miles. San Antonio Avenue becomes Harper Road East of Wyoming.

Surface Street Directions from Wyoming Blvd:
Take Wyoming to Harper. Go east on Harper past McDonald's and Walgreen's to the stoplight at Harper and Barstow.  Turn left at this intersection.

Bus Routes: #31 Wyoming route. Get off at Harper and Wyoming and then walk east on Harper.

East Mountain Branch

The East Mountain Branch is located in the Village of Tijeras next to the post office.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-40 eastbound to the Tijeras exit #175 and proceed in the right hand lane into Tijeras.
Turn right at the stoplight and go just beyond the post office to the next driveway, which leads into the library parking lot.

Surface Street Directions:
Go eastbound on Central Ave past Tramway Blvd about four miles. You are now on historic old  Route 66. Watch for the Los Vecinos Community Center on your right. Be prepared to make a left hand turn as you round the curve. Look for the Library on your left.

Bus Routes: There is no bus route to this branch library.

Erna Fergusson Branch

The Erna Fergusson Branch is located on the east side of San Mateo Blvd NE between Comanche Road NE and Montgomery Blvd NE.

Freeway Directions from I-40:
Take I-40 to the San Mateo exit and proceed northbound. The Library is located one block  north of the intersection of Comanche and San Mateo.
Turn right on Palo Duro NE and then left into the parking lot.  The entrance is on the east side.

Freeway Directions from I-25:
Take I-25 to the Montgomery exit. Proceed eastbound on Montgomery to San Mateo and turn right.  Proceed southbound on San Mateo about 3/4 of a mile.
The Library will be on your left before you get to Comanche. Turn left on Palo Duro NE and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.

Surface Street Directions Southbound:
Take southbound San Mateo past Montgomery about 3/4 of a mile.
Turn left on Palo Duro NE and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.

Surface Street Directions Northbound:
Take northbound San Mateo. Look for the Library on your right one block north of the stoplight at Comanche NE. Turn right on to Palo Duro and the left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.

Bus Route: The nearest bus route is # 140/141 San Mateo route.  Get off at Commanche and walk about a third of a mile to the library.

Ernie Pyle Branch

The Ernie Pyle Branch, a small white house with green awnings, in the residential neighborhood at 900 Girard SE. It is located halfway between Central Avenue & Gibson Blvd at the corner of Santa Monica Street and Girard SE.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-25 to the Coal Avenue exit.  Head east on Coal Avenue.
Go 1.8 miles to the stop light at Girard. 
Turn right (south) onto Girard Blvd, and go two/tenths of a mile to the Library.

Surface Street Directions from Central Avenue:
Take Central Avenue to Girard; Turn South on Girard
Girard to Santa Monica

Surface Street Directions from Gibson Blvd:
Gibson to Girard; North on Girard to Santa Monica

Juan Tabo Branch

The Juan Tabo Branch   is located on Juan Tabo Blvd, halfway between Candelaria Road and Comanche Road, on the west side of the street. Note the building is set back off the street.

Take I-40 to Juan Tabo and proceed northbound past Candelaria

Surface Street Directions heading North on Juan Tabo, past Candelaria:
Make a left turn at the next left turn bay after passing Defined Fitness, the Yamaha dealership, and the no left hand turn sign in front of the Boehmer dental office.

Surface Street Directions heading South on Juan Tabo, past Comanche:
Look for the large stone "Townhomes" sign. Turn right into either of the next two driveways

Lomas-Tramway Branch

Surface Street Directions heading West from Tramway on Lomas :
Drive past the library and turn left on Pawnee Street, then left on Fruit Avenue, then right on Eastridge and left into the parking lot. The building is light tan stucco.

Freeway directions from I-40:
Take I-40 to the Tramway exit  and proceed northbound to Lomas. 
Make a left on to Lomas  from Tramway and then follow the surface street directions to the parking lot entrance on Eastridge.

Surface Street Directions heading West from Tramway on Lomas :
Drive past the library and turn left on Pawnee Street, then left on Fruit Avenue, then right on Eastridge and left into the parking lot. The building is light tan stucco.

Surface Street Directions heading on Lomas from Juan Tabo:
Turn right on Eastridge, and then left into the parking lot.

Los Griegos Branch

 The Los Griegos Branch is located on the southwest corner of 10th Street and Griegos Road in a residential neighborhood.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-25 to the Comanche exit. Head westbound on Comanche. Comanche changes to Griegos. Continue on Griegos to 10th Street.

Surface Street Directions from 4th Street:
Take 4th Street to Griegos and turn westbound on Griegos six blocks to 10th Street

Surface Street Directions from 12th Street:
Take 12th Street to Griegos and turn eastbound two blocks to 10th Street.

Bus Route:  The closest bus route is #10 that stops at 4th and Griegos. Get off at Ranchitos and walk 6 blocks west to the library.

North Valley Branch

The North Valley Branch is located at 7704 2nd St. NW on the east side of 2nd Street, approximately 9/10 of a mile north of Osuna Blvd and approximately 9/10 of a mile south of Paseo del Norte.  The Library is next to First Choice Family Healthcare Center and shares the incoming parking lot entrance with the Center.  The front entrance of the Library faces the parking lot rather than 2nd Street. 

Freeway Directions:
Take I-25 to Paseo del Norte and head westbound to 2nd Street. Once on 2nd Street, follow the surface street directions.

Surface Street Directions heading South from Paseo del Norte:
Pass through three traffic lights at El Pueblo Rd., Ranchitos Rd. and Los Ranchos Rd.
The Library is the fifth building on the left side of the street after the traffic light at Los Ranchos Road.

Surface Street Directions heading North from Osuna:
It is just beyond where 2nd Street curves north. Please turn into the parking lot at the First Choice Family Healthcare Center and continue until you see the parking lot for the library.

Bus Route: #10 North Fourth Street.

The San Pedro Branch is located in a residential area on the SW corner of San Pedro Drive and Trumbull SE.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-25 to the Gibson Blvd exit.
Go eastbound on Gibson about three miles to San Pedro.
Turn north on San Pedro past Kathryn to Turnbul.l

Surface Street Directions:
Central Avenue to San Pedro.
Turn South on San Pedro past Zun.
Trumbull is two blocks south of Zuni.

Bus Route: #34 San Pedro Commuter, operates only during peak hours.

South Broadway Branch Library

The South Broadway Branch Library shares the building at 1025 Broadway SE   with the South Broadway Cultural Center.   The  large sign  outside the building serves as a marquee for the Cultural Center.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-25 to Avenida Cesar Chavez and proceed westbound to Broadway.
Turn northbound on Broadway and go about two blocks to Garfield Avenue. 
Look for the large sign for the Cultural Center on the west side of Broadway at Garfield Avenue.

Surface Street Directions:
Central Avenue to Broadway.
Turn south on to Broadway and proceed one block past the traffic signal at Pacific Ave.

South Valley Library

The South Valley Library, at 3904 Isleta Blvd. SW, is located one-quarter mile south of the intersection of Rio Bravo Blvd. and Isleta Blvd SW. The Library is at the intersection of Isleta Blvd. and Camino del Valle.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-25 south to the Rio Bravo exit, turn right and go west across the Rio Grande bridge to the signal at Isleta Blvd. and Rio Bravo Blvd. Turn left and go south on Isleta Blvd. to the first signal, at Camino del Valle.Turn left on Camino del Valle, and you will see the library on your right.

Surface Street Directions:
Take Broadway Blvd. south to Rio Bravo Blvd. Turn right on Rio Bravo Blvd. and go west across the Rio Grande bridge to the signal at the intersection of  Isleta Blvd. and Rio Bravo Blvd. Turn left and go south on Isleta Blvd. to the first stop light, at Camino del Valle.Turn left on Camino del Valle, and you will see the library on your right.

Special Collections Library

The Special Collections Library is the Pueblo-style building at the northwest corner of Edith Blvd. and Central Avenue.   Parking is available along Edith and on other residential streets in the neighborhood.

Freeway Directions:
Coming south, take Interstate 25 to the Martin Luther King/Central Avenue exit. Turn right on MLK and go west towards downtown.

The first traffic signal past the Lovelace Medical Center (formerly St. Joseph's Hospital) is Edith Blvd.  Make a left turn onto Edith, and go south three blocks.  Coming North, exit I-25 at the Lead/Coal/Central Avenue exit, go to Central Avenue and turn left towards downtown. Edith Blvd. is the first traffic signal west of the freeway.

Surface Street Directions:
Take Central Avenue to Edith Blvd NE. Edith is the only traffic signal between Broadway and Interstate 25.

Taylor Ranch Branch

The Taylor Ranch Branch is located at 5700 Bogart St. NW .  It is one block west of Unser Blvd and two blocks south of Montano Road in a residential neighborhood in the Santa Fe Village Park

Freeway Directions from Coors Blvd:
Take I-40 to Coors Blvd. and drive north to Montano Road.  Follow the surface street directions

Surface Street Directions from Coors Blvd:
Coming from either north or south, take Coors Blvd. to Montano. 
Go west on Montano approximately two miles to the stop sign at Unser. 
Continue west one block to Bogart, then turn left and drive south one-quarter mile.
The library is on the left in Santa Fe Village Park.

Freeway Directions from Unser Blvd:
Take I-40 to Unser Blvd and proceed north on Unser.   Follow the surface street directions

Surface Street Directions from Unser Blvd:
Proceed northbound on Unser to Bogart. Make a left on Bogart and drive south one-quarter mile.
The library is on the left in Santa Fe Village Park.

Bus Route:  - There are no local routes that serve the are near the library. The Taylor Ranch route #92 and the Unser route # 94 are commuter routes in the early morning and late afternoon.

Westgate Heights Branch

The Westgate Heights Branch is located just south of Carlos Rey Elementary School in the NW corner of Carlos Rey Park. This small library branch shares its parking lot with the Carlos Rey Child Development Center.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-40 to 98th Street and drive southbound  on 98th Street.  
Follow the surface street directions

Surface Street Directions:
Take Central Avenue westbound to 98th Street and turn south on 98th Street.
Turn right onto DeVargas Road, follow DeVargas halfway up the hill and turn left onto Cerrillos Rd.  Turn right onto Delgado Dr.  The library is just past the school on the left side of the road.

Wyoming Branch Library

 The Wyoming Branch Library, 8205 Apache NE, is located behind the Hoffmantown Shopping Center at the intersection of Wyoming Blvd and Menaul Blvd. Wyoming Branch Library is behind the Wendy’s Restaurant on Apache Street NE. It is on a separate, irregularly shaped block with beautiful public rose gardens on each end adjoining the parking lots.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-40 to the Wyoming exit and drive north on Wyoming Blvd.
Look for the Wendy's Restaurant on the left side of the street just before Menual Blvd. 
Follow the surface street directions.

Surface Street Directions heading South on Wyoming Blvd:
Cross Menaul and turn right at the Wendy's Restaurant onto Apache Street.

Surface Street Directions heading North on Wyoming Blvd:
Watch for the Wendy’s on your left as you approach Menual Blvd.
Turn Left at the Wendy’s onto Apache St.

Surface Street Directions heading West on Menaul Blvd:
Turn left on Wyoming Blvd.  Look for the Wendy’s on your right side and make a right turn onto Apache.

Surface Street Directions heading East on Menaul Blvd:
Go three blocks east of Pennsylvania.
Turn right into Inez Street at the western entrance to the Hoffmantown Shopping Center.
Go one block south on Inez and you will see the library parking lot.
