disposal, and replacement
of personal property.
The branch manages
and coordinates USDA's
personal property,
motor vehicle, aircraft,
and transportation
programs and responds
to external requests
for information related
to personal property.
Federal Excess
Property Program
Section 923 of
the Federal Agriculture
Improvement and
Reform Act of 1996
granted the Secretary
of USDA the authority
to acquire and transfer
title of excess
federal personal
property to eligible
institutions. The
Personal Property
Branch manages the
Federal Excess Personal
Property Program
for USDA, which
has transferred
$20.9 million in
personal property
since 1998.
