About The Heart Truth Road
Show: The Road Show was designed to raise
awareness about women and heart disease by helping
participants learn about risk factors; providing f|r|e|e
health screenings including blood pressure, body mass index,
total blood cholesterol, and blood glucose; and disseminating
educational materials. The traveling exhibit will also feature
a stunning display of dresses, designed by America's top
designers for The Heart Truth to help raise awareness
about heart disease, from the 2006 and 2007 Red Dress
Collection fashion shows.
This stop of the Road Show takes place during National
Women’s Health Week and is sponsored by the National Heart,
Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of
Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the
HHS Office on Women's Health. By getting screened for heart
disease, women will become empowered to learn about their
personal risk factors and take action to reduce their
risk.
