NAHI Summit Invitation Letter

Sun setting on an African plain
NAHI Summit

Dear Friend of the Diaspora

Re: Regional HIV/AIDS Summit

The National African HIV/AIDS Initiative (NAHI) is an African-led establishment geared toward the improvement of health outcomes among African refugees and immigrants living in the United States . Its main purpose is to enhance the culture of HIV/AIDS prevention, education, and care through culturally competent advocacy, education, and research.

NAHI has organized three regional HIV/AIDS summits for Boston , Seattle, and Atlanta. A fourth Summit is taking place in Washington D.C. from Sept.11 to 13, 2008. The focus of these summits is HIV/AIDS in the African refugee and immigrant communities. The goals of the summit are three fold:

  • Educate/raise awareness among stake-holders about the effects of HIV/AIDS in the community.
  • Market to policy makers/institutions the plight of HIV/AIDS in these communities.
  • Network with stake-holders to resolve the public health issue of HIV/AIDS in the community.

NAHI is, hereby, inviting you to participate at the regional HIV/AIDS summit-Washington, D.C. The summit is scheduled to take place from Sept.11 to 13 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located at 3 Research Court , Rockville MD 20850 . Activities will include, but are not limited to, guest speakers, panel discussions, breakout sessions and Q & A etc.

We need your support to reach the above stated goals. Your participation at the regional summit will impact positively the plight of HIV/AIDS in African refugee and immigrant communities as we expand our focus and exposure in the nation.

If you have additional questions, comments or concerns, please contact us at the address below. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Margaret D Korto, MBA
