To help you plan your RXTE proposals, we provide sample response matrices on our anonymous ftp site at ftp://legacy.gsfc.nasa.gov/xte/nra/responses. Here, we provide plots made in XSPEC using a variety of data combinations.
The following are sample plots of the efficiency of the PCA for each detector, layer, and gain epoch.
- PCA efficiency by layer (epoch 3, all PCUs)
- PCA efficiency by detector (epoch 3, layer 1)
- PCA efficiency by gain epoch (layer 1, all detectors)
Note also that the example for Epoch 3 was from May, 1998, and in no way takes into account the gradual (~ 2 %/year) gain drift. See the PCA pages for more information.
