Naked shorting provides a mechanism for stock manipulation.
Chairman Cox recently mentioned the need/objective for "accurate and timely market information".
If you do not eliminate Naked Shorting then you have a responsibility to provide investors "accurate and timely market information" on stocks that are being shorted so that I can avoid these stocks and not become a trapped investor by owning those stocks.
