NOTICE

The Alaska Office for Law Enforcement is awaiting clarification on the April 15 Federal Register Publication regarding Argos units: "New ArgoNet installations are prohibited on or after the published date of this notice. Units installed prior to the published date of this notice are approved to the end of their service life."

Until further notice, ArgoNet units which are already installed on vessels as backups may be used on that vessel.
