Help is now available for individuals with developmental disabilities seeking work!

Are you looking for help in going to work? Worried about losing your benefits or medical coverage if you work? Do you understand the impact of work on your benefits? Learn the facts before you decide to limit your hours or not go to work…..your benefits may actually help you work!

Our services include:

  • Information and Referral
  • Benefits Analysis
  • Planning
  • Outreach
  • Liaison with Social Security, DSHS and employment agencies

Our staff can help you:

  • Learn how a Work Incentive can work for you
  • Learn about a Plan for Achieving Self-Support
  • Learn how to shelter income so YOU can direct your own future

Your employment resource coordinator will:

  • Walk you through the maze of benefits and resources
  • Explain impacts of work on benefits including Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and medical coverage through Medicaid or Medicare
  • Help you use your benefits to meet your employment goals with Social Security Work Incentive programs

Eligibility requirements:

  1. King County residency
  2. Eligibility for services through the Washington State Division of Developmental Disabilities
  3. Have an interest in employment
  4. Receiving or eligible to receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
