Thank you for visiting the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction’s (DRC) website. As Director of this Department, I always enjoy the opportunity to educate people about the Department, and this site is just one tool that can be used to share our message. DRC is more than just prisons and it takes each and every one of the over 14,000 dedicated and professional employees to complete the DRC puzzle. It is our mission to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and offenders, provide offenders with meaningful programming that will assist them upon their release, and to ensure the safety of Ohio’s communities. We are able to achieve such a mission with the help of our community partners, legislators, volunteers, community corrections agencies, other government agencies and numerous interested parties.
Our agency has adopted the motto: “I LEAD”. Integrity, Leadership, Excellence, Accountability and Diversity are core values that we embrace as an agency. These core values set us apart from other organizations. We take great pride in dealing with those under our charge with Integrity, Leadership and Excellence, and having Accountability for our actions while acknowledging the role Diversity plays in our organization. “I LEAD” indicates that we believe in our mission and we value the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those under our supervision.
This site is designed to assist you with information, whether
you are a victim of crime, offender family member, corrections
professional, researcher, reporter, community partner or any
other interested party. You will find information regarding
our institutions, Adult Parole Authority Regions, partnerships
with local jails, community-based correctional facilities, halfway
houses, statistical reports from different areas within the
agency, opportunities for volunteers, community service, employment,
and much more.
Thank you for visiting our website and I hope that you find the information both useful and educational.
Sincerely,
Terry J. Collins

In partnership with communities, we will promote citizen safety and victim reparation. Through rehabilitative and restorative programming, we seek to instill in offenders an improved sense of responsibility and the capacity to become law-abiding members of society.
