PROJECT Regional Transit Planning MAG's role as Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) requires completing a comprehensive Long Range Transportation Plan and a five year construction program. These plans include multiple transportation modes including transit. MAG works closely and cooperatively with Valley Metro the Regional Transportation Planning Authority (RPTA) and other MAG member agencies. In addition, MAG often completes transit related planning projects such as the High Capacity Transit Study and the Park and Ride Site Selection. The transit component of the Regional Transportation Plan was done by RPTA in partnership with MAG.
