a All recommended vaccines are defined as at least four doses of diphtheria-tetanus-acellular pertussis (DTaP), at least three doses of polio, at least one dose of measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), at least three doses of Haemophilus influenzae B (Hib), and at least three doses of hepatitis B antigens. The vaccines included in this measure are based on the corresponding Healthy People 2010 objective, which does not include varicella vaccine or vaccines added to the recommended schedule after 1998 for children up to 35 months of age. b Negative/poor refers to household incomes below the Federal poverty line; near poor/low, over the poverty line to just below 200 percent of the poverty line; middle, 200 percent to just below 400 percent of the poverty line; and high, 400 percent of the poverty line and over.
