Sun setting on an African plain
NAHI Summit

About the Summit

The fourth and final summit for the National African HIV/AIDS Initiative will take place Sept. 11 to 13 in Rockville, Md. This summit will emphasize the goal of bringing awareness to the needs of African immigrants when it comes to HIV prevention messages. The event is open to providers, advocates, leaders of organization and people who work with African immigrants.

Background

The goal of the National African HIV/AIDS Initiative is to enhance the culture of disease prevention and health promotion, education and care among the African refugee and immigrant communities through advocacy, outreach and research. NAHI was born through impromptu conversations and conference calls and kicked off in HIV Awareness Day 2007 with the first summit in Atlanta.
