KEVIN
P. DEMPSEY APPOINTED ACTING U.S. TRUSTEE
FOR INDIANA, CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
Washington, D.C.--Kevin
P. Dempsey has been appointed Acting United States Trustee
for Indiana, Central Illinois, and Southern Illinois (Region
10), it was announced today by Martha Davis, Acting Director
of the Executive Office for United States Trustees. The principal
office for Region 10 is in Indianapolis; other offices are
located in South Bend, Ind., and Peoria, Ill.
Dempsey has served
as Assistant U.S. Trustee in the U.S. Trustee Program's Indianapolis
office since 1990. He received the Director's Award for Exemplary
Service in 1999.
Before joining
the U.S. Trustee Program, Dempsey practiced bankruptcy law
in two Indianapolis firms, and clerked for Bankruptcy Judges
Nicholas W. Sufana and Frank J. Otte in the Southern District
of Indiana.
Dempsey received
his Juris Doctor from Illinois College of Law in Champaign,
Ill. He graduated magna cum laude from Augustana College in
Rock Island, Ill.
Dempsey's appointment,
which took effect April 3, 2001, fills the vacancy created
by the resignation of former U.S. Trustee Edward Hopper.
