Accessible Services Advisory Committee
Role
King County’s Accessible Services Advisory Committee provides suggestions and recommendations to the King County Department of Transportation on transportation services for elderly people and people with disabilities. Its purpose is to empower these communities to obtain equality of opportunity and maximum independence in using public transit.
The committee has two main roles:
- to monitor, oversee, evaluate and improve transportation services for members of the disabled and elderly communities, and
- to advise the director of the Department of Transportation, the King County Executive, and the King County Council about service to members of these communities.

Members
The committee is composed of a maximum of 15 members who are elderly, have disabilities, or are advocates for the elderly and persons with disabilities. The committee’s membership also reflects King County’s geographic distribution and ethnic diversity. Members are appointed by the King County Executive and approved by the King County Council.

Meetings
The committee meets in downtown Seattle at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month, or as needed. If you are interested in attending a meeting, please contact us.
