The G. Burroughs Mider Lecture
Past National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) Scientific Director and Cancer Genetics Branch Chief Jeff Trent presented "Integrating Genetics, Genomics, and Biology of Malignant Melanoma" on October 9, 2002 in the Jack Masur Auditorium, Building 10 on the National of Institutes of Health (NIH) campus.
Hosted by DCEG-NCI and NIH, OD and part of the Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series (WALS), the lecture tracked a series of studies that span nearly 20 years of melanoma research. Dr. Trent focused on family-based analysis of melanoma susceptibility, through cytogenetic and molecular biologic investigation of melanoma progression. Melanoma is a genetic disease that will ultimately be recognized and targeted by molecular techniques.
