During the 1920s, Gunter Hotel was headquarters for buildings of southern U.S. transcontinental Auto Highway commemorated by the 0-Mile Stone marker on City Hall lawn. OST, also known as El Camino de los Tejas, is famous highway that was critical to development of Texas many centuries ago, that began in Florida and continued to California. OST recently designated a National Historic Trail by the National Park Service. Decorative stone bench recognizing OST located at 3400 Fredericksburg Rd.
