Built in 1862 by Thomas Gibbs, only Greek Revival-style dwelling in city. Gibbs was one of city's early businessmen and was often visited at the home by personal friend Sam Houston. Today, house is a Texas recorded historic landmark and been declared an archaeological landmark by Texas Antiquities Committee. At Ave. M. Admission fee.
