Midland County Historical Museum

Exhibits include early Midland history, photos, pioneer relics, mementos of the Civil War, World Wars I & II, and Indian artifacts. Visitors can also see the famous "Midland Man." Anthropologist Dr. Fred Wendorf authenticated remains (calvarium, upper skull) of what is now known as the Midland Man. Discovery proves existence of man in Midland area 22,000 years ago; site on Scharbauer Ranch south of city limits. Reproduction of remains on display in Midland County Historical Museum.
