First opened in 1930, now one of the few remaining atmos-pheric
theaters in the nation. It closed in 1973 and was saved from
demolition
in 1986. In 2002, the City of El Paso and El Paso Community
Foundation formed a partnership that provided funding for the
restoration project. That effort re-stored the theatre to its
original splendor and it is now open for tours and
performances.
