Included in the state's Central Coast section of the Great Texas
Coastal Birding Trail, this 1/2-mile trail lies in the two greatest
fly-ways of migratory birds in the Western Hemisphere. Two
bird-watching platforms are available. White-tailed hawk, Wrens,
Long-billed Thrasher, Vermilion Flycatcher, Belted Kingfisher,
Killdeer, White Ibis, Roseate Spoonbill, Green Jay, and Lesser
Goldfinch are just some of the species seen here. A
handicapped-accessible nature trail winds along nearby Carreta
