Workplace Safety Seminar to be held in San Antonio on August 8

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation will present a one-day educational seminar on Seven of OSHA’s Top Ten Violations in 2006, on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The seminar will take place at Warm Springs Rehabilitation Center, 1st Floor (Resource Center), Room 132 in San Antonio. The cost is $125 per person. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

This eight-hour seminar will focus on seven of the top ten cited standards as reported by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in November 2006:

• Scaffold Safety – 29 CFR 1926.4512;
• Fall Protection – 29 CFR 1926.501;
• Hazard Communication – 29 CFR 1910.1200;
• Respiratory Protection – 29 CFR 1910.134;
• Lockout/Tagout – 29 CFR 1910.147;
• Powered Industrial Trucks – 29 CFR 1910.178; and
• Ladders – 29 CFR 1926.1053.
