Workplace Seminar to be held in Brownsville on April 4

AUSTIN, TX—The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation will present a one-day educational seminar on Seven of OSHA’s Most Frequently Cited Standards in 2006, on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. This seminar will be held  from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at UT Brownsville, Science, Education, and Technology Building (SETB), 3rd Floor Conference Room, 80 Fort Brown in Brownsville. The cost is $125 per person. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

This eight-hour seminar for employers and employees will focus on seven of the top ten most cited standards as reported by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in November 2006:

• Scaffolds – 29 CFR 1926.451;
• Fall Protection – 29 CFR 1926.501;
• Hazard Communication – 29 CFR 1910.1200;
• Respiratory Protection – 29 CFR 1910.134;
• Lockout/Tagout – 29 CFR 1910.147;
• Powered Industrial Trucks – 29 CFR 1910.178; and
• Ladders – 29 CFR 1926.1053.
