TDI RSS FeedsTDI RSS Feeds are designed to be used with a news aggregator program or desktop web page, such as Google's desktop. The "feeds" essentially serve as a free, automatic news gatherer. RSS (which stands for Rich Site Summary or RDF Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication, depending on who you ask) allows you to see when our website has added new content. You don't even have to remember to visit our website every day. With an RSS aggregator or an RSS feed desktop, you can subscribe to the feed you want, check for new content at intervals you select and retrieve (pull) the content to you. Nothing is emailed (pushed) to you.

Not all websites provide RSS feeds, but the number is growing. And with Microsoft providing special RSS functions in its new Vista operating system, RSS is likely to become a standard desktop feature. Aggregators also are being built into portal sites such as My Yahoo!, MyAOL, Google HomePage and Google Reader; Web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer Version 7; e-mail programs like Mozilla Thunderbird; and other applications, including Apple's iTunes, which serves as a podcast aggregator.
