What's New in
2006 Water Use Survey
Over
the past several years, numerous changes have occurred
in water planning for the State of Texas. The Water Use
Survey has been restructured and improved this year to
meet the data needs for these changes. The following are
brief explanations of the more significant changes in
the Water Use Survey.
- Separate
Survey Questionnaire and Survey Answer Sheet
The Municipal and Industrial Surveys are now two documents:
a Survey Questionnaire and Survey Answer Sheet. The
separate documents will help in clarifying the types
of information requested in the Survey.
-
Two different formats of the survey (Paper and Online)
We provide two different survey formats, a paper version and an Online version for our surveyees to choose from. A paper version can be simply completed and retuned by mail. The online survey option can be also used to complete and submit the survey.
-
Monthly
Water Use By Water-Use Category
The Water Use Survey requests monthly water use
by customer categories, including: single-family residential,
multi-family residential, commercial/institutional,
industrial, and other. Because of the large amount
of discussion regarding seasonal water use in the
Conservation Task Force, and the Task Force's recommendation
to the Legislature for a standardized Residential
per capita calculation, we feel that it is important
to collect this information.
If such information is not readily available for 2005,
please consider making an estimate and collecting
this information monthly throughout 2006.
- A Short Version of the Survey Forms for Facilities and
Mobile Home Parks and Small Industrial Facilities
Commercial and institutional
facilities, and mobil home parks and industrial facilities with an annual amount of water intake less than 2,000,000 gallons will now receive a
shorter version of the survey to reflect their limited water
use.
