Food Issuance and Redemption Services is a unit of the
Texas Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC) that:

• screens applications from grocers
• processes contracts with grocers to accept WIC food instruments
• processes grocer claims
• reviews grocers’ compliance with the programs competitive pricing criteria
• provides training to grocers for compliance with WIC Federal regulations, rules, policies, and procedures
