New complex, opened in 2004, welcomes visitors to engage, explore and enjoy. Natural history exhibits feature both traditional and walk-in dioramas, including a Texas limestone cave, a Texas forest, and the Waco Mammoth Experience where visitors can walk on a glass floor over casts of skeletal remains of two of the 24 mammoths found just miles from museum. Exploration stations on paleontology, archeology, natural history and geology further enhance the experience. Sixteen-themed rooms in Jeanes Discovery Cen-ter offer hands-on learning on topics from People of the World to Health and Sound to Veterbrates. Also included in complex are 13-acre Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village, SBC Theater, Anding Traveling Exhibit Gallery, Baylor Univ. exhibit, museum store and cafe. Admission fee.
