November 2007 Seminole Canyon SP&HS - Fate Bell Cave Dwelling Tour - Every Wednesday through Sunday. Go on a two-mile, walking tour of this dramatic rock shelter site in a deep, limestone canyon. The shelter contains 4,000 year-old Pecos River Style pictographs, among the oldest, most colorful and distinctive ancient paintings in all of the Americas. Tours are subject to cancellation. 10-11:30 a.m., 3-4:30 p.m.; fees $5 adults, $2 children 12 and under (432) 292-4464.

December 1, 2007 San Angelo SP - Petroglyph Tour - Visit the site of a Native American Village and see Native American rock art. Less than a 100-yard walk. Meet at the South Shore Gatehouse of the park. 10 a.m. (325) 949-4757.

December 15, 2007 Seminole Canyon SP&HS - Presa Canyon Tour - Go on an all-day, eight-mile hike in the lower canyons to view the rock art sites in closed areas of the park. The tour visits several prehistoric rock art sites including the vivid Pecos River Style pictographs of Black Cave and some of the more recent Red Linear Style pictographs along the way. Hike is extremely strenuous. 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; fees $20 Texas State Parks Pass members, $25 non-members; reservations required and will not be taken more than 30 days in advance, some restrictions apply, tour subject to cancellation (432) 292-4464.

Visit several prehistoric and historic sites normally closed to the public including the watering hole used by the U.S. Army's Seminole Negro Indian Scouts in the late 1800s, for which the canyon is named. 8:30-11 a.m.; fees $10 Texas State Park Pass members, $12 non-members; reservations required and will not be taken more than 30 days in advance, some restrictions apply, tour subject to cancellation (432) 292-4464.

February 9, 2008 Seminole Canyon SP&HS - Seminole Canyon Archeolympics - Test your ancient hunting and survival skills at this first-ever event.
