The Immunization Branch of the Texas Department of State Health Services is unveiling a new kind of communiqué to inform our public and private collaborators of the latest vaccine information: The Vaccine Advisory. The goal is to disseminate, in a timely manner, practical information related to vaccines, vaccine-preventable diseases, and the vaccine programs managed by the Immunization Branch. The Vaccine Advisory will also help clarify how information arising at the national level can impact immunization programs at the state level. Finally, it will provide links to other resources for providers and the public associated with the topic addressed.

The Vaccine Advisory will be issued when new Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations are posted and for other hot topics. Each issue will discuss a single topic; updates will be issued when needed. The Immunization Branch welcomes readers’ input to improve the contents of this document.
