Central Texas Regional Gang Investigators' Course

Location: Austin, Texas
Site: University of Texas J. J. Pickle Research Campus
Overview: This regional conference is designed to offer current and comprehensive information on street and prison gangs specific to the Central Texas region. Attendance will be limited to law enforcement and criminal justice personnel involved in the investigation and prosecution of gangs, with preference given to those from the Central Texas region.

Texas Safe Schools and Healthy Students Summit

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Site: American Bank Center
Overview: This summit is an important school safety event and features some of the best presenters from around our state and nation. Our target audience includes: school officials; SDFSC staff; school safety staff; nurses; counselors; teachers; school resource officers and school police departments; transportation directors; maintenance directors; regional and community emergency management planners; coordinators and first responders; educational service center staff; community and state agency representatives; and community and regional health and service agency representatives.
Conference Registration: The conference registration fee is $250.00 per person and covers the cost of tuition, conference materials, refreshments and one luncheon. Online registration will be available on or before December 15, 2007. Please return to this website for additional information on that date.
Overnight Accommodations: Omni Corpus Christi Hotel - Bayfront and Marina Towers We have established a block of guest rooms at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel-Bayfront and Marina Towers located less than one mile from the conference site. You should make your hotel reservation by calling the hotel directly at (361) 887-1600. A special rate of $85.00 single or $120.00 double occupancy is being offered. Reservations must be made by 5 pm on Friday, February 1, 2008, to obtain these rates. Otherwise, rooms will be sold based on availability. When making your reservation, you should indicate that you are requesting the Office of the Attorney General's room block.

  • The Attorney General's office may be able to provide a speaker for your organization on topics such as Child Support Enforcement, Identity Theft or Crime Victim's issues.
  • In addition, training is available on topics such as the Crime Victim Compensation Program, Acknowledgement of Paternity, Juvenile Crime, and other issues.
  • Availability will vary depending on location, staff schedules and expense involved.
