Core Principles of Quality Management
Quality Management involves three major goals which can be visualized in the Quality Management triangle.
The QMB conducts on-site and desk reviews of the services delivered by contractors and providers to assure that pre-determined standards of care are met. The QMB also works with contractors to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Quality is of uppermost importance in the delivery of health care services and the QMB strives to assure Texans served by contractors receive quality care. MissionThe Quality Management staff seek to assure that high quality comprehensive services, within the framework of current standards and contracts, are delivered to individuals in a cost effective manner. Services delivered shall promote human dignity, respecting cultural and individual differences, preserving freedom of choice while maintaining individual confidentiality. PhilosophyTo assure open and honest communication between Department of State Health Services, our contractors/providers and those who receive health care services. This communication should foster individual thinking and constructive criticism. We believe in being open, ethical, responsive, accountable and dedicated to the public we serve.
