Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program (REPP)

The Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program (REPP) is responsible for the inventory, maintenance, and repair of over 30,000 radiological detection instruments located throughout Texas.

REPP also:

  • provides radiological monitoring training to local emergency response personnel in the 254 counties of Texas
  • assists in the development of radiolgical response plans and procedures for local emergency response organizations
  • provides emergency response support for radiological emergencies

The REPP training project:

  • coordinates training efforts for emergency responders and personnel of local jurisdictions
  • writes some portions of emergency response plans
  • arranges for staff in the Maintenance and Calibration Project to conduct training classes or assist local instructors
