Texas Obesity Policy Portfolio
The Texas Obesity Policy Portfolio is a tool developed
by Texas Department of State Health Services, published with support
from the Texas Health Foundation, Center for Policy and Innovation
to influence the current trajectory of the obesity problem in Texas.
This document chronicles our best health policy knowledge associated
with obesity prevention and control. It reflects a common
message generated by Texas academic centers, institutional and agency
partners to work with the best available evidence to impact the
problem and disseminate the policies and practices as quickly and
as effectively as possible. The Portfolio gives a range of
referenced policy options from effective to untested, categorized
by type of policy and identified for use in multiple sectors and
settings. It serves as a starting point for policy development.

to the nutritional health of its children. We thank all the stakeholders
who partnered with TDA to develop a broad-consensus for the Texas
