Assessment, Feedback, Incentives and eXchange (AFIX)AFIX is a tool that was developed by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, National Immunization Program to help improve immunization coverage levels. AFIX was adopted by the Texas Department of Health, Immunization Division for use in Texas in November 1997, implementation took place in January 1998.
The acronym AFIX stands for: A ssessment of coverage standardized routine collection, analysis and summary of immunization records. CASA is used to collect, analyze and summarize the data. F eedback of Information is the return of diagnostic and performance information to the front-line staff and decision makers. I ncentives for outcomes provide extrinsic motivation to improve service and achieve goals. X change of information - comparison to peers and focus on organizational mission. Regional AFIX Coordinators are Texas Department of Health personnel within each public health region that can assist with conducting, installation and training of AFIX.
