James G. Springfield, F.A.C.H.E.

James G. "Jim" Springfield of Harlingen is president and CEO of Valley Baptist Health System and is being reappointed to the council. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a board member of the Texas Hospital Association and serves on the advisory board of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. Springfield also serves on the development board of the University of Texas at Brownsville, the Texas Health Institute, the Texas Association of Voluntary and Nonprofit Hospitals, and the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board. In 2004, he received the Robert S. Hudgens Award given to the Outstanding Young Healthcare Executive by the American College of Healthcare Executives and was recently named outstanding young alumnus from Baylor University. A graduate of Baylor, he received a master's degree from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and is board certified in healthcare management. His term will expire Feb. 1, 2011.
