Disease Prevention News (DPN)

The Texas Department of State Health Services published Disease Prevention News (DPN) under various names for over fifty years. Distributed twice a month, DPN provided health care professionals throughout the state of Texas with a wide variety of timely public health information, including Texas morbidity and mortality data.

Disease Prevention News has resumed publication under a new name, the EpiLink Online Bulletin. The monthly publication continues to provide investigative reports, annual reports, and other articles covering important public health issues. The EpiLink’s new online format also allows readers to link to a variety of pertinent local, state, and national resources.

The electronic version of DPN is created as a .pdf file, which allows access to DPN through Windows, UNIX, DOS, and MacIntosh viewers while still retaining the basic format of the print publication. Because this file format contains hypertext links, it is viewable only with the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
