Division for Regional and Local Health Services

Vision

DSHS Division for Regional and Local Health Services (RLHS) will be recognized locally, statewide and nationally as key to the support of high quality essential public health services at the local level in Texas. Recognition of the value of essential public health services will permeate all levels of governance and all programs administered by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Texas residents and state officials will have confidence in the practice of public health in this state.

Mission

The mission of DSHS Division for Regional and Local Health Services is to serve the needs of Local Public Health Agencies, DSHS Health Service Regions, and local communities in building and maintaining capacity to provide essential public health services responsive to local needs.

FY08 Local Public Health Services Contracts

The Local Public Health Services Contract Documents have been updated and are now available for the FY2008 contracts.  The same format used in FY07 will be followed for the Budget Narrative, Service Delivery Plan, and Contact Information forms.  Deadline to submit signed FY08 contracts is July 6th, 2007.  For questions regarding the documents, please contact the Local Public Health Team, Dan Smith or Elma Medina by email at LocalPHTeam@dshs.state.tx.us or by telephone at 512-458-7770
