Access to Recovery II (ATR II)

Access to Recovery (ATR II) is an initiative seeking to increase access to substance abuse services through independent assessment, participant choice of service providers, service linkages with faith- and community-based organizations, and an electronic voucher method of payment. In addition, ATR II will include treatment and recovery support to methamphetamine abusers without regard to drug court involvement. The ATR II program operates in Bexar, Brooks, Burnet, Collin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Bend, Grayson, Harris, Harrison, Jim Wells, Lubbock, McLennan, Potter, Randall, Taylor, Tarrant, and Travis counties.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) awarded $13.5 million over three years for the ATR II Grant.

DSHS is currently in the process of making decisions on how we will implement the grant. Continue to check our website for new information. Learn more »
