LICENSING OF PREMIUM FINANCE COMPANIESAn "insurance premium finance company" means a person engaged in the business of making loans under the provisions of Chapter 651, Texas Insurance Code, by entering into premium finance agreements with insureds. A person may not negotiate, transact, or engage in the business of premium financing in this state without first obtaining a license. The requirements of the law and certain exemptions are found in the Texas Insurance Code, Chapter 651-Financing of Insurance Premiums. The sections of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) outlining the administration and enforcement of the statute are available for viewing and printing at Texas Administrative Code, 28 TAC ยงยง Chapter 25.
