November 10–11, 2007/2008San Jacinto Monument SHSVeteran's Day Weekend — All military personnel, active and retired, receive free admission and are invited to ride the famous 489-foot elevator to the top of the monument, view the digital presentation Texas Forever!! The Battle of San Jacinto, tour Drawn from Experience: Landmark Maps of Texas at the San Jacinto Museum of History, an exhibit that features more than fifty important maps depicting Texas and the Gulf Coast region that date from the 16th century to the present. Learn about Texas through a visit to the San Jacinto Museum of History, located at the base of the Monument. Accessible for the mobility, visually and hearing impaired. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. (281) 479-2421. December 7–8, 2007San Jacinto Monument SHSSan Jacinto Museum Family Days — Bring the family and enjoy free tours of Drawn from Experience: Landmark Maps of Texas at the San Jacinto Museum of History, an exhibit that features more than fifty important maps depicting Texas and the Gulf Coast region that date from the 16th century to the present on Friday and children's crafts relating to the map exhibit on Saturday. Re-enactors in period dress will greet visitors on Saturday. Ride the famous 489-foot elevator to the top of the monument, view the digital presentation Texas Forever!! The Battle of San Jacinto, learn about Texas through a visit to the San Jacinto Museum of History, located at the base of the Monument.
