January 19, 2008 — Fort Richardson SP&HS & Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway — Family Fishing Day — Enjoy your Saturday morning with free fishing at Quarry Lake. January 26, 2008 — Landmark Inn SHS — Kid Fish Celebration — Children 4-12 years of age can fish for stocked rainbow trout in the gristmill millstream. March 8, 2008 — Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center — Fly Fish Texas — Join fly-fishing experts from around Texas and beyond to learn everything from the basics of fly-tying and casting to how to fish all kinds of waters from mountain streams to coastal bays. Come prepared to wrap your hands around a fly rod, tie a woolly booger, paddle a kayak and learn about the latest gear and techniques. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free with admission to the center. April 18–20, 2008 — Lake Fork — 2nd Annual Toyota Texas Bass Classic — The world's top tournament bass anglers vie for big prizes at this event. Live music, games, activities, family fun zone, food, fishing industry expo with the latest instructional seminars, gear, accessories and equipment will add to the fun. Hosted by Toyota and the Professional Anglers Association. Proceeds benefit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
