Help with the Texas Administrative Code
- To find a rule, first click on a Title. Next select the agency, then the chapter, subchapter (if applicable), division (if applicable) and then the rule. You will need to print each rule out separately.
- The electronic copy of the Texas Administrative Code is maintained by the Secretary of State's Office - not by the Texas Department of Insurance. If you have any questions or comments, please call 1-800-226-7199 (463-5561 for Austin callers) or email the Texas Register at register@sos.state.tx.us.
- The Texas Administrative Code is now up-to-date on a daily basis, and not one week prior to today's date as it was in the past.
- Make sure that your Internet browser allows you to view information using Javascript. For best results, use Netscape or Internet Explorer version 4.x or higher.
- The Secretary of State's Administrative Code application does not allow you to print entire chapters. A file of an entire chapter or subchapter is available for a fee of $.50 per rule.
Help with the Texas Insurance Code
- The electronic copy of the Texas Insurance Code is maintained by the Texas Legislative Council - not by the Texas Department of Insurance. If you encounter a problem with the statutes web page
(such as a search error, missing text, or a broken link), please report the problem using the Legislative Council's problem report form. Some text, especially tables and scientific formulas, may not be formatted correctly.
- The Texas Legislative Council offers the Texas Statutes to
the public "as is." It makes no warranty as to the accuracy of the data, and is unable to aid in the conduct of research or offer legal advice. Please direct such requests to your local public library, the Legislative Reference Library, or an attorney.
- The Insurance Code database and other state code databases are jointly owned by West Group and the State of Texas. Under the ownership agreement, the Texas Legislative Council may provide copies of the data for internal use to other agencies of state government; the council may not provide the data to other third parties except with the written permission of West Group. The data is provided on the Legislature's web site with the permission of West Group. West Group may have a copyright interest in the organization and arrangement of statutes unofficially compiled in Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes. To the extent West Group has such an interest, use would be restricted under what copyright law describes as fair use.
- Changes to statutes after a legislative session are incorporated as soon as possible. Based on past history, the statutes are updated with the changes enacted in a regular session (January through May of odd-numbered years) about six to 12 months after that session has adjourned.
Printing from Insurance Code/Administrative Code
The Texas Insurance Code and the Texas Administrative Code are
not maintained by the Texas Department of Insurance. TDI provides links to electronic copies of the code for the convenience of those visiting our Website. We have no control over how the code is presented or how it prints from your browser.
However, on most browsers when you click Print, you have a choice under "Page Range" to choose: All, Selection or
Pages. If you use your mouse to highlight that portion of the code you want to print, you should be able to click on the "Selection" radio button and print out only that portion of the code that you highlighted.
If for some reason you do not have that option or it does not work for you:
- Cancel your print job.
- Go back to the code and highlight that portion you want to print.
- Right-click and copy or simply copy it to a word processor or Windows Notepad, perhaps. Use "paste" to drop it in, and then you should be able to print it out. You can also save the file to your hard drive if you need it in an electronic format.
