December 8, 2007 Brazos Bend SP - Junior Angler Education Class - Come join us for a free fishing clinic for parents and adults. The clinic will provide the opportunity for families to spend time together while learning the basics of fishing through hands-on instruction. Open to ages 6 and older, children must be accompanied by an adult; class size limited to 30 participants. December 22, 2007 Fort Richardson SP&HS & Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway - Kid's Fishing Tournament - Kids, enjoy your Saturday morning with a fishing tournament at Quarry Lake. The lake will be stocked with rainbow trout as well as bass, catfish, crappie, and perch. Prizes given out for first fish, biggest fish and most fish. 9 a.m.-noon (940) 567-3506.

January 12, 2008 Palmetto SP - Trout Fish - Try your luck at catching a rainbow trout in our recently stocked pond at this annual event. No fishing license is required. 9 a.m.; register at the park office (830) 672-3266.

January 26, 2008 Eisenhower SP - Texoma Tie In - Join the fly fishing and fly tying craze and learn from the experts! Geared toward families and anyone who has ever wanted to tie and fish their own flies. Fly tying equipment available or bring your own. Held inside the heated recreation hall. Accessible for the mobility impaired. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (903) 465-1956.

A limited amount of fishing equipment is provided (including poles and bait), or you can bring your own. Adults are requested to attend with small children or with large groups. Accessible for the mobility and hearing impaired. 5:30-6:30 p.m. (512) 793-2223.

March 29, 2008 Palmetto SP - Jr. Angler Fishing Clinic - Kids ages 6-13, have fun learning to fish with hands-on activities to build fishing skills and become Certified Junior Anglers. Learn to identify fish and their habitats, practice good water safety and to respect the environment, all part of the excitement of landing the big one.
