Photos available in our photo library
include transportation subjects, scenic landscapes and a wide variety of images that have appeared in TxDOT's publications.
Many photos in our Texas Highways magazine are purchased
from freelance photographers and are not available through the
photo library.
Copies of photographs in the library are available to the public. The copies are produced
at a commercial photo
lab, and the charges for these services are the customer's responsibility. If
the photo is digital, arrangements may be made to transfer it electronically. To learn how to do this, please contact our photo librarian at the address or
phone number below.
How can I request copies of photos?
- As our collection is not available online, the best way to make
selections is to visit the photo library in person. Please call ahead to
schedule your visit. If you are seeking a specific photo, it may be
requested by mail or telephone.

professional photo lab from our list. Once your order is prepared, you may
call the photo lab with instructions about the services needed
and arrange for payment. The photo library has no service charges and is not
involved in the billing process.
- The photo lab will inform you when your order is finished and will
expect payment when you pick up the order, unless you have made other
arrangements with them. The photo lab automatically returns the original
photo materials to our photo library.
