The Texas Conrad 30 J-1 visa waiver program is still accepting applications for the fiscal year 2008 cycle. for the 2008-Year Cycle Primary Care: Areas that are not eligible for Primary
Care physician waivers include: population based HPSAs, Medically
Underserved Areas or Populations (MUAs, MUPs), or facility HPSAs.
RHCs that do not have an automatic facility HPSA designation
are also not eligible. Sub specialist: Areas that are not eligible include: population based HPSAs, Medically Underserved Population areas (MUPs), or facility HPSAs. (RHCs that do not have an automatic facility HPSA designation are also not eligible). Psychiatrist: In rural counties, sub specialists must
admit patients to the local hospital. Please indicate in the application
which hospital or hospitals the sub specialist will admit patients. Five Flex Slots
The Texas Conrad 30 program reserves the option to recommend up to five waivers in non-designated locations for the DSHS State Hospitals. Another option for primary care physicians in Texas is the Department of Health and Human Services J-1 Waiver Program.
