Carol
Davis is director of the
Motor Carrier Division
of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The division registers inter-
and intrastate motor carriers (including tow truck operators, passenger bus
operators and household goods movers) to operate on our nation's highways,
issues permits for the transport of oversize/overweight loads and licenses
vehicle storage facilities. The Motor Carrier Division also processes
complaints, performs investigations, assesses administrative penalties against
motor carriers and vehicle storage facility operators, and administers consumer
protection programs for customers of household goods movers.
Davis began her TxDOT career in 1987 with the Highway Design Division. She has
also served in TxDOT's Austin District and the Vehicle Titles and Registration
Division. Prior to her appointment as division director in 2003, Davis served as
the division's Business Services Director. Davis represents TxDOT as a member of
the American Association of Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO)
Subcommittee on Highway Transport and the Western Association of Highway
Transportation Officials (WASHTO) Committee on Highway Transport. Davis received
her bachelor's degree from St. Edward's University in 1993. |
