Wild Rides

Sure, Texas has been a state for more than 160 years, but it's still a pretty wild place. From roller coasters to surfboards to horses to rafts, you're in for the ride of your life here in Texas. Have a look and see for yourself. We'll save you a seat. And a seatbelt.

Roller coasters, white-water rapids, horses, surfboards. If you can ride it, you can ride it in Texas. All year long, you'll find the wildest rides Texas has to offer all over the state.

If you're looking for thrill rides, we've got the ticket for you. We've got two Six Flags Theme Parks in Texas. You can visit Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington (conveniently located between Dallas and Fort Worth), and Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. Each with exciting rides shows featuring Looney Tunes characters, musical productions and even fun rides for the very young children. Not to mention monster roller coasters and other rides for the thrill seeker of any age.

We can't talk about Texas rides without mentioning the ride most associated with our great state: Horses. Whether it's a Quarterhorse, Arabian or even a Thoroughbred, you can saddle up just about anywhere in Texas. There are stables all over that let you ride along our beautiful beaches, through our wide-open plains and our stately ranches. Depending on your ability and experience, you can ride solo or take lessons. Check with almost any Texan town you're visiting to see where you can sit a top a ride that's truly a part of Texas history.

We also have wild rides that cool you off. Our water parks are some of the best in the country. Schlitterbahn is 65 acres of pure wet and wild fun located in New Braunfels. Fed by the Comal River, this park of water rides, giant hot tubs, slides rapids and even a children's playground, is surrounded by the lush greenery of the Texas Hill Country. And in Arlington, popular Hurricane Harbor is just a short drive away from Six Flags Over Texas. Schlitterbahn has also opened the state’s newest waterpark on tropical South Padre Island.
