AUSTIN - TXDOT is proud to
announce that its Web site received
national recognition recently with
an award for redesign and
recognition for usability.
Earlier this month, the
Center for Digital Government, a
national research and advisory
institute on information technology
policies and practices in state and
local government, awarded TxDOT one
of its 2007 Digital Government
Achievement Awards in the
Government-to-Citizen State
Government category for the redesign
of the Web site last year.
The Digital Government
Achievement Award is a national
program recognizing outstanding
agency and department Web sites and
applications that enhance
information, transactions and/or
services. The categories include
government-to-government,
government-to-business,
government-to-citizen, and
government internal.
“We’re honored to be awarded and
recognized by CDG for all of the
hard work that went into making the
TxDOT Web site better for external
and internal audiences,” said
Michael Sledge, TxDOT’s Web site
redesign project leader and content
manager. “Our goal is to continue to
improve upon our own work and make
the TxDOT Web site a leader in
state-government sites.”
Texas Online was also recognized
as a finalist for CDG’s 2007 Best of
the Web Awards in the State Portal
category.
The Best of Web recognition is an
annual awards program that
recognizes the most innovative,
user-friendly state and local
government portals. The program
judges state, city and county
government Web sites based on
innovation, Web-delivery of public
services, efficiency, economy, and
functionality for improved citizen
access. |
