Texas Tollroad - State Highway 121

Q & A

Q & A

Where can I get a toll tag?

Getting an electronic toll tag and opening an account is easy. Visit www.ntta.org or call 1-972-818-NTTA(6882) to sign up for a North Texas Tollway Authority TollTag. Another option is to open a TxTag account by going online to www.TxTag.org or by calling the Customer Service Center at 1-888-GoTxTag  (1-888-468-9824).

Can I save money if I get a toll tag?

Yes. The toll rates for drivers without a toll tag are one-third more than the rates paid by drivers with a tag, in order to offset the costs related to processing the license plate information. In addition, drivers without toll tags are charged a $1 fee on each monthly bill.

How often will I be billed?

If you have a toll tag account, your tolls will be deducted automatically from your account when you use the road. If you do not have a toll tag, you will receive a bill every month that you carry a balance.

What is the $1 charge on my invoice?

A dollar fee is applied to each monthly invoice sent to customers without a toll tag. The fee helps offset the costs related to processing the invoices. The fee is $1 regardless of how many times you use the road each month.

Do I have to pay if someone else was driving my car on the toll road?

Yes. The vehicle owner is responsible for any toll charges, regardless of who was driving. If you are concerned about a bill, please call the Customer Service Center at 1-888-468-9824.

Why are some portions of SH121 not tolled?

Parts of the highway that were previously open to traffic will not be converted to toll lanes, and drivers will not be charged tolls on those segments of the road.

What if I sell my vehicle?

If you have an electronic toll tag, please call the Customer Service Center right away to deactivate your tag so your account is not linked to a vehicle you no longer own. Also, visit the TxDOT website if you need to transfer the vehicle registration to the new owner, so you are not billed for new toll charges.

I think the bill I received was incorrect. What should I do?

To discuss a billing invoice, contact the Customer Service Center at 1-888-468-9824.

I am a TollTag, TxTag, or EZ TAG customer. Why did I get an invoice?

  1. You could receive an invoice if your tag was not read and the license plate on file for your tag does not match the license plate on your vehicle.
  2. You could receive an invoice if the credit card information on file with your account is not up to date.
  3. If you’re a TxTag customer, you could receive an invoice requesting payment if you did not have enough money in your account to cover the cost of your tolls.

What is the process for collecting overdue bills?

For drivers without a toll tag, payments are due 15 days from the invoice date. Any unpaid balances 60 days or older may be sent to a collection agency.

Who has access to the license plate information that TxDOT collects to issue invoices?

TxDOT understands the privacy concerns of its customers and will protect your private information. License plate and vehicle registration information will not be disclosed to third parties without the vehicle owner’s consent except as permitted by law and the policies of TxDOT.
